Location: Adairsville, GA		I have an Ovation that according to the serial number was built in 1977 between January and September. The label is missing though and I don't know what model it is. I have had this guitar for about 25 years and with the exception of the normal cracks in the finish and paint worn from the fret board it is in great shape and still plays great. It was given to me used by my darling wife as a Christmas present.
I would like to know the model. The serial number is on a small piece of white paper inside the bowl at the base of the neck. There is glue residue where the sticker used to be but I don't ever remember seeing it.
The serial number is 088040. The guitar is straight acoustic with no electronics. The rosette is raised black and white plastic with some type of leaf pattern. It doesn't have the grapes on it that I have seen on some other rosettes. The fret board is aluminum, the head stock is black with the traditional Ovation logo.
Can anyone help me with the identification of this wonderful instrument?

serial# doesn't help too much, but a picture would. the aluminum fretboard narrows it a bit.

Location: Adairsville, GA		Damon67, thanks for all your help. As a Nooby here it is good to have help from someone who knows his subject. I have Googled Ovation Matrix and haven't yet found one that looks just like mine but from all I have seen, I think you are correct in mine being a Matrix. All I have seen so far have a much wider rosette than mine but the leaf patterns seem consistent, though larger.
