I just bought a Breadwinner that seems like a Limited with the top cut away but it also has features of an earlier standard Breadwinner.

I am trying to determine if a previous owner modified one or if it is an early prototype.

Any input is welcome

Interestingly and rather well modified it appears. Factory or aftermarket is hard to tell unless someone fesses up either way.

I just noticed the bridge area is recessed too. This does not seem to be like other breadwinner photos i have seen.

I didn't do it... I think!
Its an early unit with an enlarged Bridge cavity.
Are the electronics still intact?

Yes, every thing its there. I'll take it apart and take more photos to help with the "forensics".

Thanks for your input.

That's an odd one for sure. Looks like a BFLG patient.

I'm finally refreshing this. Here is a shot of the sculpting under the bridge so that it is recessed.

I can't figure out why this had to be done as the stock guitars seem to have the bridge on the top. If the neck pocket was lowered then this mod would be needed.

The lack of other paint in the cavities makes me think it is original and not re-painted.

The more I look at this, the more I think someone that really knew what they were doing (to a point) cut a new body and pickguard, or maybe carved an original body to make it their own. One thing that looks odd to me, is the odd shaping of the lower cutaway under the neck pocket. There's one picture with the guitar on its face and you can see it's a bit squared-off, and considering the care to make everything rounded everywhere else, I find this an odd bit.

It would be interesting to see under the pickups, and the electronics cavity. That might tell us some more.
