They are place in the upper bout where the sound vibration is minimal and will not get in the way. Adding that mass in a full veneer would dampen the sound and you would have lamination and lifting issues in abundance. I would keep carbon top and wood top separate. | ||

I could get a wood top Adamas but I love the stability and durability of carbon fiber. The more I think about it though. I would love a nice piece of quilt like yours with a trans orange finish. I lived in New Hampshire for the first 30 years of my life so I'm try to capture the essence of New England in fall on a guitar. I could do it with carbon fiber in the right color (transparent orange) or some kind of warm burst (red to orange). Edited by Matt_B 2015-07-19 1:02 PM | ||

Attaching a wood veneer to a Carbon Fiber Laminate top would defeat the whole purpose of the Adamas top. As to getting an Orange Adamas... I think that they would paint it any color you like.
