I'm curious how this really works ...

Yeah, I know it's a martin. Keep your snide comments to yourself.

Would it increase the break angle?? Cool idea.

I think I would have trouble tuning. I do anyway.

Martin? Oh....I thought you said, "Martian." Very far out. ;) :D
I don't think it would work for me; I've been known to grab the wrong peg and tweak the wrong string in "normal" winding as it is. It would definitely be interesting on a 12-string, that's for sure!! :D

It is just plain wrong Dave.

Wrong doesn't need an explaination or encouragement.

Maybe a little velcro on the end of the strings and have the tuning buttons light up when you hit the string. It was popular with kids sneakers... who knows???

Now that we have this revelation, it's too bad we can't tar and feather the inventors of the standard stringing method. We've been misled for decades!

You need the new nut-mount string tubes.

I swear I have seen some other guitars by apparently the same stringer. At least as I remember it, he/she is consistent!

i think that string wound on bass strings will break very quickly with that tuning method.

probably someone stringed that way guitar on some alcoholic party, made a photo and now 1000 guitarists think how it will affect guitar sound or if it will sound better.

I'm surprised he or she knew that they went from thickest to thinnest across the fretboard.

Trying to tune that thing would be like trying to ride a bike with your hands on the opposite handlebar. (those of you who have tried this know what I mean)

I've done something like that accidently, and I'll just say that there is no improvement over regular stringing.
