I need to move some stuff out of the house before I sell it and that means the herd is getting thinned. I am selling my #1911 which is in excellent/unblemished condition, which is quite the feat for an almost 50 year old guitar. Quite a few years ago, I lucked out when I found it. I sent it to the MS and Kim stated that he had not seen a cleaner shiny return home. They polished the bowl and buffed the top and set it up. It has stayed in the case, since then, humidified. It is hard to find any type of blemish on it.  To me, it is a piece of history that testifies that Charlie got it right, from the very start. A truly hand made guitar...which would make it a custom today.  You feel the strings through the bowl and the response on the treble side is crystal clear and crisp, while the base is balanced and full. Everything on the guitar is original. The Klusons are in great condition...no issues there. I am asking 950.00 + shipping. I laid a straight edge across the frets and it ended at the top edge of the bridge. I am not sure you will find another shiny bowl in this condition. You can contact me at jay@jayk.net, if you are interested.  Thanks, jay.

Wow. Just wow. I have one of the 40th Reuissues but this is amazing. Yes, Charlie had it right from the beginning. This one belongs in a museum.

The sound is ridiculous. Better than the reissue, but then it's had some time to open up, right? The neck is WAY BETTER than the reissue. But the top isn't a high grade beauty like the K1111

Jay, you described it vs the reissue, spot on.

It's a beautiful for sure. Has some buzzing on the D&G strings, and a slight intonation issue on the top E. After some checking, it's the saddle that's the issue. The radius is wrong. I'm having a new one made with the proper curve AND with a bit of compensation for the E

It should be even more of a treat to play as soon as it's done

Damon,

Yeah...the top isnt as pretty...but it produces a better resonance...Dan would know...but the bowl comp may be different also. And yes...the neck is fast and a joy to play. It's amazing that O started out with such a top notch instrument. It does my heart good to know that you feel that 1911 was everything I thought it was. It was in such pristine shape, I didn't want to play it...so it sat in the closet. Of course I had 495,  that was a daily player, so it wasn't as if I was missing out...

Thanks again for speaking up for her.
