Now that I've baptized into the Church of Adams I can imagine how good it all sounded. Is that a 1581-5 reissue?

Is it possible that you played at Jacks at 9 1/2 mile & Jefferson that night ? If so it amazing because a friend of mine that I have not heard from in 2 years just E-Mailed me tonight and said he was up at Jacks on Wednseday night and they had an open mike night.
It sounds like you got an entire set in not just a couple of songs like you had mentioned in an earlier post. Good for you guys.GWB

Great stuff Brad. I played my first ever "real" gig last night and I'm still buzzing 24 hours later. Congratulations

Details ozwatto.... Your "first ever real gig" deserves a few details please.
Without any details I'd be thinkin' that the only song you played was....
"Tie Me Kangaroo Down".
18 times in a row.

edit... I just read your post in the "play or not" thread. And now... thanks to you.. I have an ear worm singing...
Tan me hide when I dead, Fred....
Tan me hide when I'm dead...
So we tanned his hide when he died Clyde..
And thats it hanging on the shed...
All together now!
Die me kangaroo down boys..
Die me kangaroo down...

I wound up playing the first set with Davis and Pam Turner at O'Kanes last night, Lots of fun.
Some 1,4,5 tune in E started it, then Into the Mystic, Melissa, Johnny B Goode(the Kal David shuffle version), The Sky Is Crying, What do you do with a drunken sailor, Feeling Alright and then Collect Call(one of mine). Lot of fun, used the TNV460.
We'll have to work on some Who songs and Die that Roo Down for the Amelia Matt week.

That clip says it all fillhixx. Can you believe he's been making a living out of that sort of stuff for at least 50 years.

Well... Now I know just what a "wobble board" is. That has to be one of the strangest "Stairway" arrangements I have ever heard.

Sounds good Bill. I'm in.

Why not? He's one of the most brilliant all-'round artist/entertainers to come out of Oz since Dame Edna!

'Course he's really popular around here for his recurring hit 'Vancouver Town' which is updated for him by local journalists every time he plays here.

I hit Vancouver in the blazing sun
On the 9th of February '61
From the 10th of February through 'till May
It rained and snowed all night and day

Man's a brilliant performance artist (since before the term was coined.)
A comic
A hit songwriter
A multi-instrumentalist
A painter
A childrens entertainer
and from all reports, a damn nice guy!

Yeah, in Canada we don't like our successful people either. Couldn't get rid of Celine Dion fast enough....but we'd kinda like Neil Young back...

We call it the Tall Poppy syndrome down here fillhixx.

You're right though. Depsite making some of us cringe, Rolf is a talented man and has made many people happy over the years.

When I was a kid he had a weekly television show where he would display all his talents. He used to do a lot of painting back then but he'd use the sort of brush that you'd paint your house with and some of the stuff he did was amazing.

I think Celine is heading down this way...but who's got Neil Young?

Rolf Harris, didn't he have a song called "Six White Boomers"? Great Christmas tune!
