Well, that's interesting. The single screw is supposed to be on the bottom, on both. The guards I have won't fit as they have the pickups nearly an inch closer together.

I'd like to see a picture(s) of this Hurricane as you may have something rather rare. The only way the necks were attached on the storm series was with screws or bolts. There isn't any other option unless at the factory they decided to do a set-neck, in which case... why bother with a cover? Nothing to cover, just for show? Seems odd, especially for back then. The one pickup being flipped is odd too. Also, frankly the 4" on center pickups. 5.xx, and 3.xx but I don't ever recall measuring 4" on any Storm, but that's minimal. The neck mounting has me very curious.

Guess this guitar is not so strange...

This is what happens when I am trying to fix a Cisco cable box w/DVR while wife bemoans on the phone that she will loose all of her recordings...she has been up north to help our daughter and granddaughter for initially eight weeks, home for three, now probably eight to ten weeks. No consolation that she can find some on Hulu or Netflix. Cox will be out tomorrow but that doesn't help save the recordings.

On the Hurricane there was an opaque piece of cloth or more like a very thin fiberglass piece - a previous owner must have glued on then used something like shellac with the red tint of the finish. Whatever. closely matched the finish of the guitar. Seems like a lot of work.

Looks like he had started to carve but screwed it up, added the above, then carved through it into the wood, carved KOZAY or KOZAV

After I carefully removed it, there are the four holes with bolts and center hole for the wrench...SO NOTHING NOVEL. Even the carving is what Witko did on his T-Head which is why he knew the one he had bought was his one from teenage years.

As to the serial number, looks like there might have been one but he carved over it (or at least where the number would be)...can see a small part of what might be the imprint but not the numbers. Strange, then filled his letters with what looks like wood putty.

Oh well, measurements are right and I was always curious of the p/u's but each works separately or in unison as advertised. Maybe I will flip the top one.

Sorry, late to the party again.

I have these (somewhere) and can cut a blank without the ever shifting pickup notch.

Mike, really appreciate the offer. You know I value your friendship and work with the Vipers, Breadwinner, etc. However, although I will keep trying to find an original in good condition, what I have now is not bad. I was able to patch the two broken pieces so that it is noticeable and Dremo sand to fit.

Ok tony, I found mine out in the barn. Pm me an address and I'll send a tracing. This is from the original Hurricane.
