| Hi everyone , I just wanted to pass on a method I used on a ovation acoustic for filling a finish crack . I had about a 3 inch crack in the soundboard of my ovation 1612 . After gluing the crack with some Titebond I was still left with a finish imperfection to fill . The other night my wife was doing her nails , she has a gel nail kit with the uv light . I thought that stuff dries hard as a rock , I wonder if that would work on my guitar . The next day she went to work and out came the nail kit . I taped off the crack leaving a edge a bit wider than the crack , filled the crack with the clear top coat , hit it with the uv light , and wiped it with alcohol . I put on 2 coats , sanded it with my wifes nail buffing block , rubbed it out and threw a little wax on it . The result was a repair hardly noticeable . Just thought I'd pass it on . Have a great week !
