Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I really enjoy the acoustic sound of my acoustic bass, but I realized last night that the OP24 pickup wasn't giving me even a close level of gain across the the strings. I changed out the battery thinking that would help, but it still sucks. SO ... I'm thinking perhaps I need to upgrade the electronics. Any comments, questions, suggestions or inuendos? (I know I may be opening a can of worms with that question) |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | 1. I've used a direct 1/4' Monster Bass cable input connection and also tried plugging in through a Digitech BP200 Modeling pedal
2. In both circimstances, when playing in the lower 2 strings the volume was normal, but the higher 2 were not near the same amplitude (sounded too quiet), even after tweeking the mid and high levels on the amp. (Using a Peavey Pro 500 Amp head and Eden 410 cabinet)
3. Church stage, but standing right next to the amp. Tried leveling all the adjustment knobs out and increasing the hid and high gains with no real improvement. |

The OP24 is a direct decendant from the Magnum 2 bass electronics. I doubt that's where the problem is. Call Kim or John and work it out with them, 860-379-7575. |

So the sound is dying and you've ruled out externals.
Do any of the guitars you have, have a can you can swap the OP24? Then you could rule that out. Also, make sure there are no lose wires, though now that you say there's an imbalance between the strings, I would concur with Drs. Cliff and Beal. |
