| Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you're all enjoying your new toys. :-)
This year I was fortunate enough to get a new Ovation CC44-5 for Christmas, and have a question about the built-in tuner. When I hit the "tuner" button, an up arrow and a down arrow blink in an alternating pattern. Playing a note doesn't seem to change what shows up on the display. Note names don't show up. I checked the pickups and they seem to work fine. Is my tuner broken, or am I just too dumb to figure out how to use it? :-p |

If the guitar makes music when you plug it in, that could be the problem.
OR, you could try plucking the string Harder.
(Hard to diagnose long-distance like this... so I am mostly guessing) |

| I was pretty much in standard tuning (maybe a few cents off), so I don't think that's the issue. I tried playing the string as hard as possible so I don't think that's it either. I swapped out for another 9v battery, but it might be old, so I'll try again tomorrow with a fresh battery.
Any other possibilities here? Thanks guys for your suggestions. |
