Joined: September 2012 Posts: 811 Location: Thredbo, NSW, Australia | I now have my very own VXT! All I have to do now is figure out how to use it. How do I find out what year it was made? I couldn't find this series of serial numbers in the list of serial numbers or the FAQs. I also believe that they were only made in 2007... I could be wrong. But that is about when Fender got a-hold on Ovation. And it was all downhill after that. Nice guitar! Now I miss mine... But I know where it is at.

(Farked if I can figure out how to insert a picture) We'll have to have a VXT party, oops I mean jam, next time we can get a few of us together. Enjoy Mooloolooloolaba!

I think they were built till early 2009 (somebody told me). Beal?? Love mine!!! It has got a little "customization": Schaller tuners with 16:1 ratio and custom made rosewood-buttons with real MOP, rosewood Pup- frames and rosewood knobs. Bernie

They made the black ones first, then the sunburst and a few red ones (wish I'd have bought Woody's), then they started with what looked like textured tops. I only saw ads for those, but I've never seen one in person.

These were made on the main floor of Ovation as we observed on one of the OFC tours. While the Hamer artisans may have had some influence over the production quality control of the VXT, it was assembled ny Ovation craftsmen.
