Hi there,

I have an ovation Elite L718 on my bench for repair.
I need to replace the gain pot.
Can you tell me how to remove the preamp from the guitar please? I'm afraid and embarrassed to say this one has me completely stumped??

Thanks for any help you can throw my way.

Cheers,

Trevor C

According to http://www.ovationtribute.com/Pr%E9-amplis/Ovation%20Preamps.html the OP-X seems to be the design where the faceplate (plastic, a couple of tenths of a millimeter in thickness) can carefully be separated from the frame. Underneath and near the corners are hidden the heads of the 4 screws which secures the amplifier to the guitar body. Look at the pictures of the FET3 or OP24 preamps to get an idea of where the screws are. See also here: http://www.ovationtribute.com/Ovation%20Schematics/Ovation_OP-X_Pre... if you need the schematic.
