Dear all,
I've been using celebrity cs-257 for the last decade and decided to treat myself with a true ovation adamas quality guitar, then eventually got a w597 MEII new from local dealer.
Been realised that this is the "newer" version that there is no sound holes at the South side, but I also noticed that the ME symbol is missing on the peghead face. Just wondering if it's normal?

Thank you!

Okay, I'll bite...

I have looked through internet images hoping to see one without a an ME symbol...
I could not find one.

Then my thought is, Why do you believe that this is an MEII?
Is it White with Pearl epaulets? Or reddish-black 12-string?

The 12-string does not have the ME symbol on the headstock...
But it has one on the 12th Fret.

We need pics.

Definitely a MEII signature 6 and should have the logo on the headstock.

Any chance I could still contact some staffs in ovation to at least clarify? I have all the documents and serial code, just missing the logo? Some kind of "special edition"? Lol

You should read a few other threads. There aren't "some staffs" in Ovation to contact anymore. There is a small crew left. Search for John Budny on this site. He might be able to get you the logo if there were some left when Fender closed the plant.

Is the label (inside, visible through the sound holes) signed by Melissa E?

Yes I've got the signed label.
Yeah I wouldn't bother getting the logo back, actually I prefer without tbh, just that I feel strange why would this happen lol
Cheers guys

It's possible this wasn't a "new" guitar and the neck has been "replaced" with a stock Adamas neck.
Do you just have paperwork from the dealer, or do you have it from Ovation? And if so, does the serial# on the back of the headstock match the serial# on the Ovation paperwork?

The advantage of NOT having the ME symbol is you won't pegged as a Melissa Etheridge fan.
I have nothing against Melissa... I just don't know any of her songs.
Kinda like, if you have a Frankenstrat people want you to play "Eruption".

Yes Arthur to be honest I didn't know Melissa at all before I got the guitar. I would doubt if many people in Hong Kong knows her actually.

There are several possible logical explanations for the missing logo (a customer might have special-ordered it but never picked it up, a local store/distributor may have special-ordered a batch of them without logos for any number of reasons, or, although less likely, it may have just slipped out of the factory that way.)

Regardless, it's a very nice guitar, just play it and enjoy it.

(Somebody bring me some water!)

Is the logo a decal on top of the clearcoat?

I'm not an endearing fan, but she has good taste in guitars. I think it's an upgrade.
