I had the nut and saddle of my Patriot replaced with bone at the factory several years back. It does make a difference. It sounded darn fine before, now it sounds tremendous!

I don't know, but I have noticed stained and burst finishes seem to show it more.

I do love my Anniversary. It's the deep bowl, A-braced, non-Kaman bar, hand laid Legend I decided to keep. Very different than all the other Legends that came out. They seem to sell cheaper than a 1619 Custom Legend from the same era which makes absolutely no sense to me. They're every bit as beautiful, and have every bit of bling, it's just a different bling.... The bridge and truss rod cover of a Custom Legend meets the veneered headstock and heel cap of an Adamas, then add herringbone trim, snowflake position markers, and the stain on the top, so unique!

Really, it sounds like something Patch woulda had the factory make... except he would have added a redwood or some other exotic top.

Or maybe I would go for a vintage look with vintage attributes?

I love this guitar!

I had a Martin once with a Fishman in-line that sounded great.

John Budny might also have access to a direct out style pickup they used for the FD-14 Folklores. They sound fantastic as well and are completely invisible fromt he outside except for the jack.
