I've decided to part with my baby, to fund a new guitar purchase.

It was in pretty rough shape when I bought it... the previous owner had removed the stock electronics, and plugged the holes in the body. The ebony fretboard had a lot of wear, and the walnut bridge was in bad shape, so I sent it to Ovation for a refurb.

They planed & refretted the fingerboard, and replaced the bridge with a traditional acoustic bridge (in ebony, to match the fingerboard) and saddle. So now, it's a straight acoustic.

I've played quite a few Ovations, and this one sounds amazing. The deep bowl & traditional bridge setup make for a wonderful, full sound.

Comes with a new Ovation hardshell case.

Priced at $650 + shipping to lower 48.

That truly is a unique O. I've always loved the dark brown spruce top on the 1651s. Very classy. No way I can afford this, but that is a great price for a guitar in as good a condition as it looks to be in! Good luck with the sale!

How was the plugging of holes accomplished?

Like so...

Not exactly a minimalist approach, but I guess it did the job.

Also worth mentioning... there is one finish check on the soundboard, near the bridge. Doesn't go into the wood.

Good grief...

Exactly how does one edit a post without having the whole thing re-posted?

Anyway... still available...

Some interest, but still available.

I guess my price point is too high, so...

I'll do $600, shipped to the lower 48... but that's the floor.
