stopped at a thrift store today and bought stephan grapelli live at carnegie hall. He was the violinist with Django in France. Great CD for a buck LOL.

makes me really appreciate my stereo stytem. even without the DAC converter i have been looking at.

BTW if anyone is looking for a crossover the old crown vfx2a does a great job!!! and they are relatively cheap compared to audiophile components.

damn the cd stopped I am going to listen to it again and then put on dave brubeck's christmas cd and then john fahey and then ......

still dreaming that santa will deliver that DAC LOL

You'll love the album Stéphane Grappelli & Jean-Luc Ponty did together.

I picked up the Stephan Grapelli and David Grissman album back around 1987. I couldn't believe how well Grapelli played, well into his 80's. I wound up a huge fan. For those of you who never heard him play his swing jazz violin, give him a listen. You won't believe how great he is.

I saw a documentary the other night on Django guitar clubs in Tokyo. There are several, it seems. One Japanese violinist was asked about the style she was striving for. Her reply was, "Sexy, like Stephane Grapelli."
