There are circumstances where death can be a good thing and that doesn't come to an end.

Who says they do? IMO that depends on your definition of good.

Because if they didn't end, they would cease to be good. They would become ordinary and boring. There would be no point of contrast, no perspective.

Good things come to an end so that new good things can start. Personally, I leave the bad things behind when they happen ... I'm not broad enough to carry all that baggage.

so, how does this thread fit into all of this? should it end now or later?

i suppose we need to define whether or not this was/is a GOOD thread. this could be painful....

A lot of ordinary and boring things are good, like air to breath and water to drink. Just because we take them for granted doesn't diminish their goodness.

...unless of course, by 'good' you only refer to what makes you feel good, which is totally subjective. And I'm sure all of you are way too sophisticated to be that shallow.

Yeah! I thought we were working on the Lyrics to a Song!
Something along the lines of "Dust in the Wind"
Or "Where Have All the Good Times Gone"...

All things good and bad come to an end. The bad only seems to go on forever.

Remember what Kipling said:

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same ... then you are man, my son.

[edit]
I guess when I wrote this I was thinking about the other post about marriages breaking up, but it's true.
