For those of you who are using Hercules GSP40WB long wall mounted hangers like these:

How far apart are you spacing them for your Ovations (and other wood box guitars)? What about for electrics? I am going to mount these onto a wood board and then screw that into the wall studs. Any advice or lessons learned would be appreciated.

Bobbo, are you hanging the guitars with guitar faces at an angle to the wall (faces not parallel to wall)? If so you'll have to decide at what angle- in order to space them conveniently so that your not knocking them around as you take them up and down...

Definitely angled from the wall ... too many guitars, not enough wallspace. I will angle them as far as possible ... maybe 60 to 75 degrees?

At that angle, I'd be inclined to space the center of the hangers at about 12" intervals (assuming we're talking deep body acoustics)

About 8" for lectriks...

I did the same. Let me measure and I'll get right back to you.

You can also stagger them vertically for even closer mounting. Although these are mounted face out, you can see where staggering would make an impact if they were at an angle too.

I got mine on 11 to 12" intervals on a 4x1 piece of oak. Got 6 hooks in a 5 foot section. Make sure you mount the board to the wall solid enough.

On the advice of Jeff I also choose a distance of 12" when I draw up my guitar board two years ago. It seems to be a optimum for roundbacks. Angle is about 45 degrees.

OK ... 12" it is for the acoustics. Thanks. Unfortunately, I doubt my wall will have quite the ooh-ahh effect of Karl's. ;) Or Beal's.
