I want to send a BIG thank you out to our own Captain Lovehandles. Knowing what a great artist he is, I commissioned him to do a drawing for me. I wanted to do something different for Christmas this year... it exceeded all of my expectations.

Jas - thank you once again - I love it, and I know Nicky is going to love it! Those of you who met Nicky and myself at the Southern Jam can appreciate this and those of you who didn't can get a pretty good sense of what I'm dealing with here with Nicky :D

The drawing itself is 11x17 and is in the process of being framed. I'll post a pic when it's all done.

Great idea and wonderful execution. I think the Cap'n needs to set up an easel at the hotel during the tour and take on walk-ups, like they do at the county fair. I'll buy, especially if he'll take some liberty with the subject!

He does very accurate caricatures, unfortunately for me. Ricky's huge smile and my huge forehead seem to be our most striking features.

I don't know that this topic is OT, though. Technically, it's an Ovation sighting.

I thought about that after I posted it, but figured it was too late to change it.

What do you think of the framing job?

as a former art gallery director, my opinion is that the framing rewards the art very well. the focus is drawn to the art by the perfectly accented colored elements. terrific in it's simplicity.

I don't know art but I know what I don't hate; and I don't hate that.
Montgomery Burns

I know Art! He's the kind of guy shows up at a party with a sixpack, drinks a dozen beer, and takes home a square of empties. Cheap Bastard!

Yeah! Including almost being banned.

Once again, you astound me with your talent, Cap'n.

HEY! I shared some of the six-pack I brought...
Then I shared some of your beer too... Share, and Share Alike!
I was only being polite by hauling away the trash!

Just can't please some people...

[and I only drank seventeen beers]
