Well after 3 years as a member of the OFC and 2417 posts I decided it was time for a change.

With several other members changing their names;

Trader Jim, Mauvais Beal and others too numerous to mention, I have decided to change my screen name to "Capo Guy". As Trader Jim can attest I have a lot of capos.

I use a capo a lot and have tried a bunch of them. My favorite is a Shubb.

Someday I will probably get a G7 which a supposed to be the best. The Glider in the upper left is a gift from Trader Jim and I use it when the Band does a lot of 1/2 step key changes. The Planet Waves NS is also a great capo and similar to the G7 profile.

I still play my gospel music and will miss being the "Gospel Guitar Guy" but this name is shorter for those who don't like to type. :D

I will answer to "CG" if necessary.

This is still one of the best forums on the internet and I have learned a lot from you guys and gals. So.... Goodbye Gospel Guitar Guy and Hello Capo Guy.

Welcome TAFKAGGG, just "The Artist" might be appropriate too.

Nice collection of capos!

Hope to get to see you next week.

OK, Capo Guy it is.

And which is the capo you use most? I just use my plain black shubb.

Here in New Joisey, dat woid, "Capo," has an intirely dif'rent connatation, if youse get what I'm meanin.' Da folks here might be takin' it to mean dat youse have associated yourself wit da fam'ly dat sings all the highest notes, if you get my meanin.' So long as you avoid da black fedoras and funny-shaped fiddle cases, we won't be confused--much. ;) :D

I didn't see a short-cut in that grouping... ;)

Kyser or Dunlop quick-changers have worked okay for me, but I definitely want to pick up a G7 at some point to try. Maybe I'll put that on my Christmas list this year.

It's only fair... After looking at that picture, and going "I have one of those... gee I wonder where it is." and "I have one of those too. Where is that darn thing these days?" I'm gonna be up for awhile going through boxes myself.

be careful with "the glider" the one with the springs... I had one of those that one of the set-screws backed out of while I was making a change the whole thing minus the screw sling-shotted and flew across the room and dinged the front of my Custom Legend that I had at the time...

haven't used it since.

Miles,

I have been thinking of getting the G Band. Does anyone in the USA distribute them?

The Bird looks like it is similar to the G7.

I know that now days their are more different types of capo designs and it still comes down to grab a Shubb and go.

I remember as a kid playing along with some Johnny Cash LP's and using a #2 pencil and a couple of rubber bands. The one on the right in the second row Was one of my first I believe it is still made by Hamilton. It actually works pretty well but it is rather bulky.

Glenn, I'm going to check the screws on the Glider right now.

G-Band are distributed in the US by D'Andrea. They should have stock by now. UPS managed to lose their original consignment.

G7 now do a version of the Kyser overgrown clothes-peg. I'm not a fan of non-adjustable spring capos, but this looks pretty cool.

I'll argue against that, and anybody that says anything even remotely bad about TJ is gonna get a visit from one large angry Cuban!
