I went to see CS&N on Saturday night.
They played the River Stage here in Brisbane, an outdoor venue just across the river from my apartment.
They are certainly showing their age a bit but were still fantastic.
David Crosby's voice is still amazing.
Did a great version of "Almost Cut My Hair" among many other old favourites.
Had an assortment of old amps just miked through the PA. The sound was amazing.
And not a Gibson to be seen.
Or an O for that matter.
Did they ever play Ovations at all?

Don't think they did ever play O's, of course someone will dig up a photo to prove me wrong. S.S.'s voice is almost gone. (but he still sings better than I do)

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a picture of Crosby playing an Ovation at some point. I remember thinking that the combination of the bowl and his belly had to make it hard to play though.

Steve Stills has always endorsed Martin.I remember seeing him on 60 minutes years ago saying he liked them because he could put his deaf ears to the geetar and still hear and feel the sound. No kidding he is almost deaf!!

I've seen CSN here in Italy at Lucca summer festival (Central Tuscany) 2 years ago. No Ovations on stage !
Great performance indeed considered their age.

Saw them about 5 years ago and another vote for 'still pretty good'. I wish Crosby would quit telling the stories though and just sing. The stories wear a bit thin anymore.

They never played one that I heard about. I'm sure they must have tried them, if for no other reason to say that it's a piece of...plastic and my prewar Martin is better etc.....

Maybe it was around all the hype surrounding the impregnation of the Melissa Etheridge household by Mr. Crosby's wild oats.

Didn't Crosby just make a donation to ME? Or did he have to do a sleepover down under? If he did a sleep over he probably played one of ME's guitars.
