Joined: December 2007 Posts: 18 Location: New Hampshire | I just bought an Ovation 1578-FMH. It seemed louder than some of the USA ovations I tried and it was cheaper. Does anybody else have one, and if so, what do you think of it.

Joined: December 2007 Posts: 18 Location: New Hampshire | mooody, That's exactly the problem. 1578-FMH is not listed on the ovation company web site. I bought it at Daddy'd junky Music for $500. I googled it and found a site "Oklahoma Vintage guitar" that said was selling this guitar. They said it was a limited edition, "assembled in USA", but because the inlays were done in Korea it is not considered to be USA made. The salesperson at daddy's was helpful, but "knowlege challenged". I was lookng for a guitar that I could leave out in my family room to pick up anytine I wanted to play. This guitar was a little more than I wanted to pay but it sounded better than some of the American made Ovations.... I started out with this Schecter Diamond series guitar(ovation wannabe), which attracted my ear and ended up spending twice as much on this (what I hope is)Ovation. I was curious if anyone else had seen or played this guitar model... could it be a forgery??

Joined: December 2007 Posts: 18 Location: New Hampshire | The Ultra model? I usually buy the super ultra deluxe model... so I guess this is a step down form me. At least I didn't buy the standard model. But seriously... what does FMH stand for. Is it "Flamed Mahogany" as per my interpretation of Wabbits response "Friggin' MaHogany"; or does it have a more cryptic meaning.
