Fed-Ex delivered again!

My Adamas Collector 2008-5 arrived in pristine condition and since the weather co-operated, I have photos! What a Guitar! The sound is best described in one word: BALLANCED! Acoustically it sounds wonderful: very responsive and yet it has a distinct voice: less bass than the 1688 and a bit less volume than the #47 RI but it is so sweet: strummed, picked, or finger style, this is a killer guitar! I played it for an hour as soon as I took it out of the case: and I love the contour bowl! Very distinguished looks and appointments: i love the walnut grain in the neck and look at the headstock and heel photo's to see how beautiful it is! I have not had a chance to plug it in as yet: I know it will sound fabulous with the VIP 5, and yet it may be Friday before I have a chance as I have meetings and appointments Wednesday and Thursday that will keep me away from home! I am going to set up my PA and give it a go and will add my impressions then. In the meantime: enjoy the pictures and if you haven't put a preorder in yet: Give Al a call and do so ASAP. I got to go: there is a "secret agent" calling my name: 007, at your service!

I like the way they've beveled the inside of the slots. I wrap my strings right to the outside of the post and still a couple touch the headstock. Very thoughtful touch. John <>{

If I was stubborn, old, and set in my ways I would say without the skunk-strip, it's not an Ovation. But I'm not.
That walnut on walnut looks very, very nice.

Actually with the new Contour Bowl, it is much more comfortable to hold: and no more "it slips off of my lap" excuses!
I have played it now for another hour: this is such a fine playing and sounding guitar: It is complex as well as balanced: it actually has different voices depending on where you contact the strings: most guitars do that to a degree but this one does it in a remarkable and beautiful way: I think its something you have to hear to appreciate! Beggin said it all: WOW!

Beautiful Mike. I'd seen a pic of that guitar but I thought it wouldn't be released until NAMM.

It looks great and the gold on the binding and in the fingerboard inlays seems to be applied thicker and look "golder" than on my #47.

Very nice Mike! I thought it had the "suspension ring" from the earlier pictures, but now I see it's trim on the top. I really like the headstock.

That is simply OFF the charts. In a sense we are brothers in Adamas, as I'm learning my way around the 1581 which is, shall we say, a close cousin! Wow. Is it fair to ask what the actual $$ is? I saw in the other thread sort of 3K to 5K ballpark...
