This Christmas is about giving to others and not getting.
That said I just picked up a 42" LCd with mount, sound Kit and cables last night for under $1300.
Gotta love a motivated seller. Yeah, you keep loving that - it won't last. I just found out that my 32" HD LCD I bought a year and a half ago for $900 is now on special for $599. It never ends. I'm just going to wait until the next big thing in TV's comes out, then I'm buying the biggest freakin' flat screen out there at a fraction of the price, and be happy for 15 years...or so. |

Not exactly a Christmas present, as I have a couple I"m selling too, but good enough to keep the GAS under control. |

I wondered how long it was going to take for you to let the cat out of the bag LOL
Seriously folks, I spent many hours and many emails working with this guitar. talking to several people concerning this and that. And after speaking with the lady about her brother's guitar. I told her I could not think of any better place for this guitar than with Mike. The lady is a very spiritual person, and the thought of her brother's guitar spending many years to come being used in that respect gave her comfort.
The lady donated a portion of the guitar sale to "Guitars for Grunts" and Mike also helped out in a big way.
I know it seems funny I am not giving out details, but these are not details for me to give out.
It was not about getting her the most amount for the guitar, but finding it the best home I could.
Hopefully in 30 or 40 years one of Mike's grandkids will be strumming away on a 1947 Martin D-28 and the legacy will live on.

Location: Huntington Beach, California | This Christmas I got the 1619 I have been coveting. I am in the middle of a 3 month remodel on a new home, and shouldn't have done bought it. On the other hand, the search and final acquisition gave me something to look forward to in the midst of dealing with subcontractors and holes in the wall. Now if I can only finish the studio, move in, and hang up all my guitars. |

Location: SoCal | No Christmas guitars this year. 2 years ago, between September and the end of the year, I came into the 87 Collectors, Custom 1773LX, and FD14. That was a big year. And this year, I got the rebuilt GC 12 string and OFC guitar.
Next year, I'm not looking at anything big, but I've got my eye on 2 projects that should be interesting. I'll keep you posted..... |

That '08 Collector just doesn't do it for me and I'm not a Koa fan.
Maybe it's time to start looking at Les Paul's again :D

Location: Utah | It wasn't a surprise, but I got a used 6778LX in Vintage Natural finish. It's a real beauty that plays and sounds great. Maybe its the last guitar I buy. Well, maybe the last one for me until the kids get out of college.

Location: Boise, Idaho | Sounds like a bunch of us wanted Santa to bring us Collin's slothead for Christmas and Santa didn't come through. The OFC was close enough for me. I don't know what I would have done if I had a choice between it and Collin's last Spring. I probably would have procrastinated that decision so long that I wouldn't get either.
FlySig, don't ever say it's your last guitar, at least within your wife's hearing. They have an excellent memory for that sort of thing. There are plenty of good inexpensive colleges in your area. Just tell your kids they have to do it on their own so you can enjoy your guitars. |

The college thing is a bit of a story, but the bottom line is our eldest will be coming back to the U of U next year rather than going to her very expensive small private east coast college. She went from "I'd rather be homeless than go to the U" a year ago, to "This education just isn't worth the money compared to the U". Funny how they eventually realize that parents aren't as stupid as they think we are! |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Our oldest suddenly went from wanting to go to an expensive college to deciding to go to Idaho, where she got a full scholarship. I suspected it was her boyfriend's influence. He saved me a ton of money and then she broke up with him.
Second daughter decided on U of Portland, which is a bit expensive, but they gave her a good scholarship. The oldest graduated in the Spring of 05 and got a job and Harvard turned down the youngest but she got the scholarship to UP and I found this site and the rest is history.
I was very close to going to U of U law school. That's a very good university in a beautiful city. |
