Just about to leave the Beggin house today on our way up to see "the Capo Guy", and have to say it has been a very good time. Those of you who know Jim personally will attest what a great guy he really is. He and his wife Sandy opened their house to my family and treated us like kings. Last night TR Boy came over too, and we had some fun pickin' a few songs. That is until my son fired up the PS2, and Mike cleaned everybody's clock at rally cars. (He plays that even better than he plays guitar  ) Anyway, I just wanted to give a heads up to others, if you get to spend some time with Jim and family, you will be in for a real treat. I'll post some pictures later when everyone wakes up and I can get to my camera. Thanks again Jimbo!! :D

Yep. The OFC family is a great family to be sure. My wife and I were given a stay at a B&B in Sevierville as a present. When we take that trip, I hope to finally meet the Capo too. Have fun and be safe.

Thanks for tha kind words JimBob, we had a great time too. Thanks also for the song lessons. I figure, if we could have an OFC member come and visit once a week, and show me a new chord or song, than I would pick up on this guitar playin a might quicker. I do have fun trying to sing, although everyone else doesn't have fun listening to me.

TRboy (ie. Big Dale Earnhart Jr.) showed us what he has spent his time doing in semi-retirement (played PS2 racin games). His wife Mary, after seeing his mastery fo tha game, informed him that it was time for him to come out of tha workshop and get a real job. And to think that she believed that he has been buildin one Mandolin for 9 months. :D ;)

I will say it again for the newbies here, the OFC family is made up of many special, caring and kind people. If you get a chance to meet any of them, it may result in some close and long term relationships. I consider myself very fortunate to have three brothers that I am very close to, and countless brothers (and families) on tha OFC that I am close to.

TJ and Mike, it was alot o fun! Can't wait til the next get together.

Jim, Sandy said that you better not post tha pic from this morning. :o

Safe journies and Merry Christmas!! :D :D :D

Ok, no pics from this morning. Here's one of me on the FD, and TR on his Tak. The next one is Beggin giving us moral support, and lastly, the ladies who managed to stay upstairs with some wine to kill the sounds from the lower level.

When my wife gets a hold of a camera, she seems to pick the wrong time to take my picture. Of course, I really don't think there is a right time to take my picture.

I'm thinking we need to schedule a SW VA OFC gathering this coming year...To say its beautiful here in these mountains is an understatement! Maybe a SWVA OFC SUMMER or FALL FEST!
I'll work on it if there's intrest!

You are right Mike, and the one to the right of that with the soft cloth over the headstock is another you would recognize. Great guitars!

Looks like a good time was had by all! Hopefully my work schedule will allow me to cross paths with one of these gatherings.

I'm in for SW Va.. that's definitely driving distance. When's the next Jersey gathering??

Mike, that is indeed the lovely 1685-5 (that you stupid....eeeerrrrrrr...generously offered to me). I joined the talented TR and TJ (redneck names fir shur) in a song that had tha G,C and D chords in it, and it shown like tha Sun.

I suck, but that Adamas shines. Tha harder I pound it, tha better it sounds!!!!!!

The Lasagna was great. Jim, I was wrong. I think a little powder on both foreheads would help.

TR thanks for the Capos and Beggin for the food and Zilla for the key chain. You'd think it was Christmas.

Bonnie is getting better with the camera. :D
