Joined: December 2007 Posts: 150 | My uncle passed away and these are a few of his that he had in the past. I’m desperately trying to find any of them to keep them in the family. I thought the first one was an Ovation Adamas however I just saw one on Ebay that looks identical (just not this one) that states it is a 1992 Collectors Series , I'm looking for AS MUCH info on all of them as possible...Model Numbers, Year Made, etc... Obviously, there are plenty made of each model but do you think I could POSITIVELY identify any of these 3 guitars by the grains? The 2nd one would be harder. Thanks!

The second is definitely an Adamas Century, and I'm not sure about the top one. It almost looks like one of the collector's models...does it have any unusual inlay at the 12th fret?

Any advice on POSITIVELY identifying the Century one should I come across one by the picture I have? The other 2 I "THINK" I could ID based on the grains.

I think it's going to be hard for me to find so that's when I made the search more broad and added these 3...I'm most importantly looking for a Alvarez 2555s Silver Anniversary but will search for any of his. Anyone here in St. Louis??? Also, I know these are horrible and small pics but any idea what model this is??? I'm not familiar with any of this so have no idea how common/unique these may be

There's been a Century up on ebay for a while, and the '92C - the ASW Elite 12's and 1885's come up every once in a while too. None of those is terribly common, so who knows. Oh, and Tuppy...gotta move faster! ;)

However, now that I've identified the models, etc...I now have 5 that I'm looking for. Better odds of running across one of them if there is 5 instead of oneWere they sold off, stolen, or what? In addition, what is it you're planning to do in the event you actually do find one of the very models? I missed a similar opportunity about a year ago. 50 years ago, a OTR truck driving neighbor of my parents loaned me his Gibson ES-125 3/4 scale and a tube amp when I was first learning to play. I kept it 10 years until I moved out of the house in 1969, at which time I returned it to him. A few years ago, now retired, he called my parents out of the blue and informed them that he had just moved into the same general area where they lived. When I learned this, I asked my Dad to inquire if he still had the Gibson. He had sold it and the amp just two months before. It had remained literally unplayed since the day I returned it to him. Nuts.

Professor- Did you ask him who he sold it to? Even if he didn't want to give out the name/number, he could maybe get in touch with the person for you. I want my for sentimental reasons. I don't even play. Just want to keep it in my family Also, if I had to guess, I would imagine most of them are still around the St. Louis area

How would you, without the serial numbers, even know if they were your uncle's guitars? Unless you've got something that identifies them, it seems pretty hopeless to me. Sorry.....
