I noticed that just today (1/1/08) Fishman has put up some new images for the Aura pedal that might be relevant to anyone here that has the pedal and an Ovation 12 string (specially the 1598ME sig ).
Ovation Melissa Etheridge 12 string

7 images with various microphones used all in close proximity.

Obviously these are based on the ME but could add some interesting color to any other Ovation/Adamas 12 string due to the signal source being the same OPP.

Happy New Year to one and all!

Does the Aura take away the character of the original guitar, or does it just modify it a bit?

The idea is to give it a bit more of the acoustic nature of the guitar as if recorded by a highend condensore mic, which is exactly what they do to create the images. Some people love it (me) and some loathe it. try some of the demo examples on www.fishmanaura.com and it will explain much more.
