My favorite electric is and Ovation, my favorite acoustic is an Ovation...
It's time for a semi-hollow, and from my past experience I think it would be safe to say I need an Ovation.
I saw this posted on an out of state CL board. Can you help identify? I have a friend that lives near the location and will scope the condition for me before I dive in, but I'm not sure which one it is or how much I should offer for it.
This pics are horrible, but it's all I have from the posting, there was no model info.
Any info is appreciated.

And the T-Head has one more fretboard inlay down past the neck joint. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | There was a T-head on ebay last I looked. It was over $300. Watch it for some idea. Were there other differences that would make a Thunderhead more or less valuable than a Tornado? |

Location: SoCal | The T-Head had a bound neck, Ovation diamond inlays (like a Legend's) and different pickups than a Tornado. It also had gold hardware to the Tornado's chrome. |

It depends on condition obviously, I reckon any Tornado/Thunderhead that's playable and basically sound is worth at least $400/450 min. Offer him $300 :D

One last silly question and I'll do the rest on my own.
Difference in the pickups/sound? Up above Moody noted they're different.
I usually gravitate towards hotter pups. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | If you can pick it up for $300, that is a steal. If it is in really nice shape and needs no work, anything in the $500 range would be a good deal. I've seen them go in the $700 to $900 range (what I paid for my two), and a blonde model in near mint condition was sold by one of our more eminent members for something like $1400 last summer. What I find interesting about the Storm series is their comparatively small scale. Hanging on the wall next to, say, a few Gibson ES models, a Gretsch CG and a Guild Starfire IV, the Storms are noticeably shorter by what I would guess is not less than three to five inches. In addition, the neck on my Hurricane 12 string is a skinny 1-11/16ths. This thing takes some serious concentration to play at that narrow width. Fat fingered players need not apply. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Fillhixx, I agree. The slim neck on the T-Head isn't a problem. In fact, I prefer it. However, double the number of strings on the same neck and the space between each double set gets mighty thin. |

Only an F1 (nothing to you Midwest folks) but enough to gouge a 2 mile stretch of Vancouver, tear a few roofs off and cause a lot of excitement.
We don't get that much excitement around here... |

Location: Jet City | I got off the phone with the guy and he says there are "finish" cracks on the top and the pots are scratchy but everything works well and the hardward including trem are in good shape.
My friend is meeting him in a couple of hours to check it out and is going to call me when he's got it in his hands.
Aside from him describing the cracks, is there anything else I should have him look at for me??????
$300 still sound like a decent deal? |

Location: Marlton, NJ | I paid $400 plus shipping for the one above. It's got some very minor scratches but that's about it. I haven't completely gone through it yet, but I'd say if you can get that one for $300, go for it. |

The factory did me right refretting my UK II, ya think the could do a re-finish on this?
Anyone ever do that and know what sort of cost is involved? |
