Hello everyone - New to the board - I just purchased my 2nd Ovation (the first one was a while ago). I've been playing guitar for about 7 years, and last Wednesday was a NGD (do you say that here?) I've always been interested in Ovations since I saw Jorma Kaukonen play one in the 1970's (or '80's). I play Americana, Gospel songs, and Grateful Dead stuff. I do have some questions about my guitar; I got it used at Guitar Center. I hope you all welcome me and we can all hang out.

Thanks for asking - (lol) GCS-771-LX-C 2007. I'm looking for any details since I got it used without an instruction manual. I'm used to playing"light" strings and they seem like"medium" or "heavy". So, what gauge strings go on it? I saw there were old threads on the board about this model but the details weren't clear.

I emailed the sales person @ GC - I'm waiting to hear about the strings from her. I also reached out to Ovation for the specs. I'm waiting to hear back. Do they usually communicate?

Thanks Damon. I found the general manual for Ovation, and the specific manual for the pre-amp with a quick google search. See you around.

Thanks again. FYI: I changed my handle to "Peanut Butter". My stage name.
