Hi, Hard to describe, but I can lift the slider as if to pull it through the face plate, but there is what looks like white plastic around the end with just a little of the lever metal below this plastic.
I don't know how the lever fits into the slider, but was hoping to take it out and fix it some how. I would need to access the preamp getting right to the slider, where the lever attaches.

After looking, I found what looks to be a match from Eldery's site here:
http://elderly.com/items/20U-13319.htm
Looks the same as mine including the fretboard and preamp control looks exactly the same,,, the outer accent paint looks a little different.

I usually fix all my own guitar issues, although not a luthier by any means.

Getting the preamp off, If I fail and ruin this face plate sticker, am I out of luck to get a replacement?
No idea what I would replace this with if Ovation factory doesn't have it.

I sent an email to Ovation, with description of what is wrong and what I "thought" needed to be done. Seeing these pics, hoping the cover off the preamp, I can access the lever/slider assembly connection.

Should I consider doing nothing since it sounds so good, lol,,, I could almost see this as an option... lol
Would like to fix this, using original parts. The preamp works great, just tough adjusting the Bass with an exacto knife .

Any idea's are welcome, I love this guitar...

Got a response from John at Ovation...
Good news is it can be replaced wit an OP-24+ ,,, ( not original and no tuner )
Bad news is there are no parts or replacements for the OP-24E

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Should I leave it as is ?
Should I replace with OP-24+ and keep the original in case I find a way to replace or fix ?
Is the OP-24+ considered as an original replacement ? I guess a tuner is not a big deal, I have plenty of those...

Thanks for any replies.

Did you ask John how to remove this specific preamp?

I'm wondering if that faceplate is a sticker OR a thin hard (meaning brittle) plastic cover-plate glued in place. Hopefully John or someone around here who's BTDT can let you know for certain.

pry up the edges it is a thick glued on overlay
you will see 4 phillips screws one in each corner
take them out the preamp will fall out inside the body
