I'm pretty sure it's not a sliver or some foreign object. I'm at a loss as to what it could be. The tip is quite tender if pushed on just the right way and I'm wondering if it could have something to do with the callous from fretting. I've yet to consult a Doctor about it, thinking that it would just pass at somepoint, but, it is to the point that I am having trouble playing comfortably and so my playing is seriously lacking in the enjoyment catagory and I'm playing less and less. Anyone have a similiar experiance that might shed some light here? Dave

I can push on the tip all around it and and get little or no pain at all. However, if I push directly on the one place it is painfull enough that I cannot fret a string strong enough to make it ring. Maybe there is something in there. Guess I better see a Doc. You should always use your picking hand to pick your nose so you don't booger up your strings! :)

Just get a tiny piece of thorn in there and it hurts to push on the top of it. Mine usually work up to the surface where I can see them, though.

It was in there but, I couldn't see it for the life of me.
