Been reading some old threads about the 1111-4 reissue. Sounds like a great guitar. I think they made 40 of them or something. What are these fetching these days if I can even find one? Haven't seen any others for sale to even know what it might set me back. Looking for a guitar to travel with and not worry about electronics since I wouldn't be amplifying. Thanks and a bigger thanks to any OFC vets or those still serving for keeping us rocking In a free world.

Dan, we may be able to help each other out. Check your PM box.

They are fantastic sounding guitars!

These are excellent guitars (I own 2 of them). One of the few reissues that is actually better than the original.

I don't think they were superior in sound and I certainly prefer the neck of the originals, at least the 2 I have.
The RI 's were certainly beautifully crafted.

If I had the bucks, I'd get one of the reissues. Stellar guitars.....

We have two of them in the family.
Absolute beauties.
My Dad's original 68 DB will always be my favorite though.

there's one for sale here locally, and i believe it's owned by a non-frequenting board member. $1800 is the last price I saw on CL

It's been up there for quite a while

Wow! Do I ever remember the grief I got here for asking if mine might fetch $1600.00.

Dan, I asked Kim once and he said "about"... I think there is a thread where some OFC 40th owners chimed in on what # they had. It may have gotten to the high 4Os

I was glad to get one back (I have had two prior to the one I now have). They are amazing instruments. The one I have now is serial #3 and even though I can't compare them side by side, this one seems to me the best of the bunch. The others I had were between serial numbers 30 and 40. I have often wondered if the lower serial numbers of any of the models get more attention to detail, etc. I can't say I have paid that much attention to those that have come and gone with other models that came in and went out, but I am really liking Serial Number 3.

Maybe someone can pipe in that was at the MS then, but didn't they make the necks and bodies and thusly the #10 neck didn't go on the 10th body?

You can ask $20k for it if you like. Doesn't mean it'll sell. I think it's been running on CL off and on for about a year now.

Bob,  I remember Dave catching hell about Ashley Campbell to Duane Allman.  Sigh... Those were the good days.

All I can say is I had a business to run and couldn't take him up on the offer to hop on the bus to the next city for the next concert. It was in Houston. My brother went however as he had a few friends in Houston. It took a few weeks to uncloud his brain after he got back and he claimed to have no memory of anything during the three days he was gone. I, however, will forever cherish MY memories!!!

I'll admit I couldn't believe my comments about Ashley when I read them later on. I was under the impression she was still a teen and was relieved to learn she was actually 24. I chalk it up to having been on aggressive testosterone therapy.

My wife (Melissa) was thrilled when I introduced her to Gregg and he said "mmmmmm, Melisssa)". I have to admit, the guy sure gave me an awesome time for a southern rock star. The headache the next day was worse than all other headaches I ever had all put together.
