He also has a stereo saddle for $299.99

Those items have been listed and re-listed a bunch of times.
But now that the MotherShip is closing, someone might bite.
Or someone with a Lathe might just make a bunch of knobs.

Makes you wonder who is going to end up with Ovation's inventory. Will Fender keep it, to honor warranties??? Or do those end with the passing of the company? I had a Gibson CEC and it didnt have the hole insert and I found a guy that had bought a lot of CE/CEC surplus at the Bozeman plant and he had one that I gladly paid 75 for. I think we will see that supply and demand effect with Ovation parts.

In my opinion only.
Doubt if warranty repairs will be a problem for recent purchasers as I believe it is a liability for Fender. It is a 'limited" lifetime warranty that excludes labor after 2yrs, doesn't include electronics, non transferable, and there were probably few guitars produced over the last two years.

So, assuming there is a decent inventory at the factory, some or all will be inventoried and packed away until needed. There are a number of authorized Ovation repair shiops that could do warranty if Fender supplied the parts. Whatever the inventory, parts not needed for warranty will not be made available to 'others'. Personally, I do not have any faith in Fender.

As to repairs to our older guitars or those guitars bought from a non-dealer. unless some of the former highly skilled employees start a repair facility, we will not get the repair or custom work we received in the past (especially top, neck, and bowl damage). Ovations and Adamas hold up very well unless damage was caused by the shipper. This might be a good reason not to subject a purchase to potential shipping problems.

Good example was a perfect 1658 Custom Legend 12-str...damage caused by UPS required stripping the top, replacing the rosette, carved bridge, etc. Heck, the CL rosette is about $360. Due to the finish, not many repair shops would take down or be able to replace a damaged top, as well as fix the binding and obtain the CL rosette. Or if they could or would, it would cost a lot more than my past experience with the factory.

This OFC site will be invaluable as some of us (especially Al) may have sufficient inventory for awhile (to include pre-amps). If no one here has the part, then reliance on eBay. Fortunately, when Ovation/Adamas reissued guitars a couple of years ago, some (including me) bought new production pre-amps such as the 2-knob Adamas pre-amp or stacked knob Ovation pre-amp. Worst case is buying a damaged guitar for the parts.

Whatever happens, the cost of parts and repair will be higher than in the past due to supply and demand.

Consider that by asking a phenomenal amount for some items in the store window they:

A) Got you to stop and look
B) Made everything else in the store look like a deal!

I've already bought a spare stereo 2 knob preamp and stereo saddle from Al. Some things will be tough to find in the future. Other items such as a plan OpPro preamp or regular saddle could be found cheap even in a used Asian O guitar if needed.

That's okay for awhile...I have 3 2-knob preamps, 1 stacked knob pre-amp, and a CTP-2 for the Taks. I am sure there are others out there with parts. Heck, I even have a pack of 12-str nuts. Problem might be neck, top, and bowl repairs.
