I was wondering if any of you knew a good Luthier in the Virginia Beach area that works on Ovations? I'm in Japan, but my son is in the Hampton Roads area until the end of June, and a friend of his sold him a 1117-4 for 50 bucks! It's a right handed model strung for a southpaw; so the nut and bridge saddle will need to be changed. There is also a crack on the top below the bridge that needs to be glued/filled. I was getting ready to contact Ovation to ask the Mother Ship for a quote, when I heard about all this terrible news about their closure.

I'm still gonna keep saving up for a deep bowl USA Elite, and one day work up to an Adamas eventually. Meanwhile, I'm gonna try to take good care of my 1861's and try to get my son's 1117-4 in good working order. Any assistance would be appreciated! Thanks!

Okay...so, I'm adding some pictures to see if I can get this repaired.

A Legend has finally joined our family! But it needs some work. It's a right handed guitar that has been strung and used as a lefty. So the nut will need to be changed...

My son's 1117-4

No electronics, just straight acoustic. In proper condition, it should be a fabulous instrument.

But the bridge is peeling off of the top...

And the top is cracking...

...and the crack and the bridge peeling is pulling the crack apart just a bit...

...and (as one would expect) some finish cracking around the bridge area...

Was hoping that somebody here might be able to refer a luthier in the Virginia Beach area. I was planning on sending this over to the Mother Ship, but that isn't going to happen anymore. I'm willing to ship this out to repair, if I can get the repairs done reasonably and before my son heads back to Japan at the end of June. Any help would surely be appreciated. Thanks for looking!
