Location: NW Montucky | I may have the chance to grab an 1127 for a good price. I've been shown photos but haven't seen it in person yet. I searched here for the model number and learned a little bit, but I'm looking for more info. Having just moved, my Ovation book is in a box....somewhere, which leaves y'all as my primary resource.
What I know:
Claimed 1127 model and calling it a Glen Campbell
No apparent cracks in the (lousy) photo
Burst finish on top
No truss rod cover? assuming K-bar neck
Oval silverish/bluish? Ovation made in USA label (hard to tell, they used a flash)
Brown hard shell case that is unlined? assuming lining tore and they pulled it out
What I'm waiting to find out:
Serial number so I can get help dating it
when I can go look at it
I know it's the worst question to ask, but here goes: assuming it checks out and is in good shape what would you consider a fair price? $300? It's an honest to goodness made in the US Ovation after all. Thanks in advance for your knowledge and input. |

Location: Phoenix, AZ | I found an 1127 on Craigslist a couple months ago. I looked at a couple before I found this one, and they were real rough... This one is quite nice, with no cracks in the wood, and one short finish crack. It needed some work and a set up, but cleaned up nice. I absolutely LOVE the sound and feel of this guitar. If anything ever happens to it, I will replace it with the same model. |
