Hello all I'm kevin a newbie who would like to get some info on a guitar I saw for sale.it is an adamas 6591 center sound hole available at guitar center for 899.i have attempted to research this on my own but theres very little info on the web about this particular model so does anyone own one?how does it sound/play?from what I've read on your forums so far the're mixed feeling about the center sound hole version but it looks like a cool guitar(i love ovations) at a good price so any info would be appreciated.

PS my handle is twowheeldrummer because I'm more of a drummer than guitarist but guitar is my second passion so don't hold it against me LOL.I do own a legend lx 6756 12string which I'll post pics for.

Hello Kevin. To be honest, most people around here consider the center sound hole Adamas guitars to be less than desirable. Ovation quickly stopped producing these for a reason.

I have read all the posts about the center sound hole Adams I could find on here and there was one member who had a different model he seemed to like but don't want to spend a bunch of money on a lemon although I'd be curious to know more about these since I really liked the color of the one i saw for sale, ruby graphite that did a color shift from black to burgundy.
I'd love to own an adamas 1598ME in ruby red but they always seem to go for to much on highfeebay
Anyone own a 1769 custom legend al dimeola model I found a used one for 1099 that's got my attention today

You might take a look at this one: http://ovationfanclub.com/megabbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=34156. It's from a good member on this board and it is the pinnacle of center hole guitars (sound, looks and feel) from Ovation.

If you really like the 6591, go for it. We all have prejudices when it comes to guitars and sound. Only you can tell if you like the sound and feel ... and you're the only one that matters. Who knows, may this guitar is THE ONE.

Hey bobbo thanks for the feedback my quandary on the 6591 is that its in Arizona so I have to take the salesman word that it plays and sounds as good as he claims.I've seen the thread on the cl 1669 I believe it was the model Al dimeola played before they came out with his signature 1769,gorgeous guitar.if you want to see another unique Model theres a new listing for a ovation USA custom legend beautiful abalone inlay guitar model 1869 on feebay that looks like it has all the dimeola upgrades, carved bridge, pearl tuners, custom sound hole rosette.pretty sweet looking guitar

Ok so i finally found a thread way down in the Adamas section that explains why the 6591 suffers by having a center sound hole, the gist of the matter is the way the thin graphite is designed to resonate and that a hole in the middle will reduce the soundboards vibrational area diminishing its sonic quality, or something like that cause I'm no tech and just read way to many posts lol

I am sure that a center-hole Adamas would sound Nice.
Think of it as a Balladeer or Legend with a Carbon Fiber Laminate top.
Many other brands make Carbon Fiber guitars with center-holes.
Rainsong, Blackbird, Emerald, Composite Acoustic...
But the original Adamas design had "Adamas" or "Quintad" bracing... Like an Elite.
So, if you believe that the Adamas design is revolutionary...
Then a center-hole Adamas is a step backwards.
But this may only be nit-picking.

All that said, it would be nice if you could try it before you buy it.
If it sounds good, go for it.

Thanks for your thoughts.I like it but think its priced a little high.its at GC so I think I'll see if its sits on the wall for awhile and then see if they'll transfer it to my local store.might be worth getting just for a rarity factor if the price was right.found something else anyway 1983 custom legend 1669 needs a little work but a definite collectors model
