Random quote: "Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now." - Jol Dantzig

Hello All!

I own a beautiful Glen Campbell signature acoustic that I can't seem to find a build date for. Using Ovation's online code system, I confirmed it is a Glen Campbell artist in Natural color, made in New Hartford, Ct.

The problem, is that when trying to find the year, their date page only goes up to 'L'. Mine is a 'M'.

Their Support center directed me here (with compliments; "Your guitar would be best dated by an expert in dating older Ovation guitars, but it was made 1968-72. You might post a set of pics on the bb at ovationfanclub.com, there are some pretty knowledgable folks there").

Here's what's on my inner-bowl sticker:

Model: 1127-4
Serial: M087
'New Hartford, CT'

The only other thing I can add is that I've seen photos of G.C. guitars with a volume knob. Mine does not have one; it's completely acoustic.

Thanks in advance!

"m" stands for Mother. That was one of the few actually made by Glen's mom.

It was probably built around 1970, but it would help to see a picture of the guitar and of the label.

That makes it more than old enough to date. The post-1996 guitars are jail bait.
