Location: SW Wisconsin | I first became aware of Ovation in the early 70s when a touring Christian band (must have been the fall of 73, now that I think about it) showed up with all aluminum neck versions.
Since that time, I've owned 8 or more. My favorite is still my 12 string, super shallow, round hole: to my ears the bowl back and the general sound of Ovation electronics is perfect for the 12 string sound. My traveling guitar is an AX version, bulletproof and good sounding. I currently have a 6 string Melissa Etheridge Adamas, not sure that ones going to be staying around: it plays perfectly and easier than almost any of my acoustics but it's just a bit TOO much Ovation sound for me... |
