On the VERY "outer" periphery.

We were in Manhattan for something else & decided t'take a run over . .

(From where we were), it was hard to hear, (and worse to see).

We "bailed" & went to a bar up the street & watched it on HBO.

Yeah, me and the wife were there. On the left looking towards the stage, about as far back as the camera that scans the crowd in the beginning of the video. Close enough to see who was who.

The crowd moving down 5th Ave after the concert was quite an experience. The cops really impressed me with their restraint, considering all the openly consumed pot.

I'm not a big Simon & Garfunkel fan, but I wish I could have checked it out.

Was that the concert where the guy rushed Simon on stage and security got him at the last moment? I always wondered what happened to that guy and if he gets residuals for his inclusion in the video.

i was on o'ahu this past week and picked up this dvd ("simon and garfunkel - the concert in central park"). filmed 27 years ago but i've not seen it until now. the ovation guitars sound fabulous in this video. to answer pez's question, pete carr plays the adamas 1687 and VERY well. the song ("johnny ace") that paul was singing when he was rushed by a fan on stage, was not included on the cd of this concert but it is on the dvd. the guy was yelling to paul, "i gotta talk to ya' man, i gotta talk to ya'..." as he was being led off stage.
great video, simpler time.

note also that the thread was started about 10 months ago.
i searched the archives before posting to see if this topic had been previously discussed. figure it had to have been as ovations are so well represented.
