Put it on when your gigging with it to avoid them scratches on the finish, and then take them off when you're not playing your guitar. It works like a window decal where you can apply and remove as your please, and I think they're for sale on ebay. You'll have to do the trimming yourself to make it fit nicely. Just don't leave it on the guitar for a very long time, as it might also harm the finish in some form or another. Good luck.

Don't go by what you see on other guitar finishes; Ovations are tough! Eventually you'll get some slight surface abrasions...they'll buff out. Somebody here can tell you how to do it. My Ovations never got to that point...including my 1115 which has been around since '79. John <>{

John's right, too. Ovation finishes are darn tough and can take what most other guitar finishes can't....saw all the scratches on the pickguards of my other guitars...then I started to worry that the top of my Ovation was going to take a beating.
