Insert desiccant in case
Insure the guitar does move about within the case (use small bubble-pak)
Insure there is no pressure on the guitar due to the case (some are quite 'snug')
Get a slightly over sized heavy duty cardboard box for your case from the local music store
Use large bubble-pak to wrap the case
Triple tape all box seams
Insure! ;)
OK, what have I missed? |

Paul, thanks. I wouldn't have thought of that. |

It'll cost close to a grand AUD round trip.
What are you planning on sending?
Might be cheaper to buy another guitar

find a friend going to hawaii for vacation. have them drop the guitar off with me. i'll usps priority mail it to CT and have it shipped back to me. i'll admire and play it until we can find the first person headed back your way. this scenario is probably more likely to happen than an aussie to be vacationing in connecticut... ;)
edit: almost forgot: you pay shipping and repair expenses |

hand carry the guitar when you visit the mothership at the '08 tour in the fall. then you will only have to pay half the shipping costs. but then...how are you gonna get there and back? |
