| Hey all
Was wondering if anyone has ever done this before, and if its feasible? I plan to use some space age aluminum repair solder (durafix) I have an old balladeer I plan to use for campfire use, I picked it up on craig.list for $75.00 it had a twisted neck, which I repaired with with a homemade clamp, and heat from a lightbulb, and time. Mostly a labor of love, not money ha. The repair took better than expected :-) I will use this guitar for camping and rowing, if need be LOL as usual, input will be appreciated. |

Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | If it involves heat for the solder, probably not. Easier to get a new piece of fretwire, and file it down. Good work with the twisted neck, RR. My fiasco took several weeks, also. Still have the jig, in case I engage in abusing myself, again. |

I love the attitude, you'll fit in nicely!
It really isn't that hard to replace a few frets. Practice on scrap and after a few you'll have the basics down.
Figuring out which size to buy might pose more of an issue.

I think I found my new hobby, of bringing music to friends for cheap (just like me) I will try the new frets. I know I can handle the grinding and polishing, as I have been fixing stuff that people said couldn't be fixed for years. Sounds like pulling the old ones out without damaging fretboard will be the toughest part. |
