Location: Great Falls, MT | Hi all, I have determined from my research that I have a 1975 Artist Balladeer Acoustic only (no electric). Its a model number 1121-4 and serial number 0045862. What is interesting about my guitar is that it is white. I have looked and looked all over the web and cant seem to find any other white ones in my model. I took it to the local guitar experts here, and they all agree that it appears to be all original and in excellent condition, but none of them had ever seen a white one either. Does anyone on here have any ideas on this guitar? Could it have been a custom color from the factory? I didnt notice any custom labels, just the metal oval label on the inside and the serial number label.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | Over the years, I've seen a white one for sale now and again. It's still pretty rare though, especially in good condition. The 1121's are are nice instruments with a beautiful sound to them. |

Location: Tennessee | Interesting guitar. White are usually designated -6 and I don't recall seeing any of the white ones until well into the 80's. Also interesting that this one has what looks to be ebony bridge (I think the originals all were walnut). It is very possible that this guitar was sent back to New Hartford at some point in its life and had the top and bridge replaced and the finish applied to the soundboard and headstock.
That's a gorgeous guitar.
P.S. What does the foil label say in terms of the model number? Also, is the s/n you reference exact? the seven digits is also very unusual. |

As for the WORTH... tough question. I saw one at a guitar show a couple years back and they were selling it for $250 maybe? By day's end it was gone. I personally would ask more, but really it's subjective to who wants a white Artist.
I don't.
But if it was a white UKII, I'd be prepared to pay a bit more than it's typical subjective worth.

That's a "natural" finish by the model number. Sounds like Bobbo hit it on the head. Probably a new bowl assembly with the old label/serial# put back. |
