Location: Fort Worth, TX | While logging in today I noticed the Jim Bruce Blues banner advertising. I felt compelled to add this info for anyone who was interested in blues fingerstyle instruction about Jim. He's a totally delightful old Englishman who can pick with the best of them when it comes to the blues. His greatest strength is an easy going genuine gift for teaching. He does the split screen thing but unlike all the others I've seen doing this, Jim's way is to show you the right and left hand views separately instead of at the same time. You get the added benefit as well that way of hearing the tab on screen played twice. Plus, if you get hung up on any song of his you are working on, he sits on Skype all day long in his home in Toulouse, France and is a cool guy to talk to. I've learned two songs from Jim so far faster than I have from either Stefan Grossman's dvd's or Merle Travis' son Thom Bresh. I will very soon be ordering his 36 song dvd. He has some free lessons at Youtube if ya wanna preview him. The end. |
