So I look at that pile of cases in the corner, and decide to reach to the back of the pile. I pulled-out that old 1121 with the Gorilla Glue on the neck... I get all these new toys and almost forget how great this old guitar is! It is now seated at my right hand! Gotta remember the old ones, and don't treat them like ugly step-children. Just a random thought.

Heading out I grabbed my Classic and then looked in the corner. And there was my CL looking lovely and lonely. :( All four of us enjoyed the fresh air and quality time! :D

No other guitar will ever take my Gertrude's place; and of them all, she is the one who is irreplaceable. --Karen The horde: Gertrude (1111-4), Rosa (Artist-4), Johanna (Country Artist-4)[my "Triplets"], Jazzey (Tornado--either 4 or nutmeg, can't tell which), Ivory (Viper-4), Gilda (Guild dreadnought), Jacquita (Guild classical), Sugar (Steinberger 5-string bass), Plink (Galiano mando), Twang (Vega banjo) and Shriek (fiddle of uncertain antecedents)...and they all lived happily ever after.

I've got an old acoustic of unknown heritage buried in a closet somewhere. Now I gotta go dig it out.As I remember, it's missimg #6. knuckles

I am however gravitating towards "70's" time frame Ovations They have "Aged" very well and can be found for extremely resonable cost. They are so "sweet" sounding it's unbelievable!!! Of course, I find myself playing 3-4 guitars at one "sitting" as I love them all. Each has a different "flavor" of it's own. :)

It's sort of like reaching in the closet and finding your way past the shirts and pants all neatly hung, past the nice sweater that mom gave you for your birthday still in the box, and grabbing your favorite bluejeans and that old college sweatshirt. For me it's the Academy slothead. It's definately the least valuable and least recognizable guitar I own. It' not the best sounding nor best playing. But there is just some kind of bond between that guitar and I that can't easily be described. It sits at me knee at my computer/recording desk, never asks for care, never requires any, never complains, never disobays. If it could bark and shit it would be "mans best friend". Dave

It is the only A/E I keep in a stand next to the amp and the one I use primarily for private practice.
