Location: The Great Pacific Northwest		What I find surprising is that they are designing a roundback-ish guitar and they act like it's something new. I get a kick that some students want to try a CF top and "wonder what it will sound like" LOL... I just think it's ironic... Ovation winds down it's CF guitar production to only Custom Orders and there's a workshop popping up to teach people who to build them.

Thought it amusing that the article refers to them as "traditional acoustic guitars". 

Composite roundbacks are now traditional???  Oh Snap!!!

 

I'm not too surprised by the attendees' apparent lack of awareness of existing CF tops... after-all, Adamas might as well be some obscure guitar, shrouded in secrecy, hidden from public view, and known only to a small group of enlightened admirers. Oh wait, it IS. 

 

If I understand it correctly, Adamas tops aren't just carbon fiber, but a CF/wood core/CF sandwich (aka "Fibronic Soundboards").

states that  "The wood is extremely important to the construction since it contributes hysteresis common to wood not otherwise obtainable."
