Hi As a new member to the group i wanted to say hi. I have just bought a Patriot and would like to know more about the guitar. I have put 12s on it, is that ok?? Sounds bright with a massive sound. some fret wear but the frets have a blue colour which i assume is the sweat of the last owner ( he had it from new and had it shipped into the UK 37 years ago) How should i clean it up?? The bridge seems ok, no evidence of lift!! I have all the documentation for the guitar including the certificate which is nice. I paid £600 for it, is that about right?? I am a part time gigging guitarist, will the guitar be ok, or is it too old to rely on? Plugged in, there are no on board volume controls. I assume there is no pre amp? and that i volume it up from the desk i use? Should i get the electrics looked at and refreshed, or leave well alone?? My normal guitar leads seem loose in the plug, is that normal? So really should i use it, or sell it to a collector, and buy a newer model??

Thanks

Robin

You have lots of questions Robin. Sounds like you got a good old one, and yes, the old ones are great for gigging.

There are only a few here that can respond in this section, so I encourage you to go post in the main general area where you can get the biggest response.

I've updated your membership, go forth and frolic.

And welcome.
