I'm still not sure how I wound up owning these! But I've been enjoying both too much to worry about it. Sometimes it's best to just shut up and be grateful for your good fortune, because you don't know how long you get to enjoy it/them.

So here is the coolest matching set I've found since my Book mandolin showed up to keep my Book Elite company. A K-1111 Re-issue and a refurbished (not by me for once) 1968 1115 Pacemaker. Both sport the shiny bowl which is SOOOOO much cooler in person than in pictures! The Pacemaker also has the direct out pre-amp that they used on the FD-14's. I'm told that the 1115 was totaled at some point, so the factory put the original neck on a new body built to the original '68 specs (other than using an inlaid rosette like they did back then).

As far as I'm concerned, I got the 12-string equivalent of the 40th Anniversary series. And it just fits right next to the Balladeer.

They both have effortless action, killer looks, and drop-dead sound! I hope to keep these, though that may turn iffy if the next couple of months don't pan out. But in the meantime, I'm grinning every time I open a guitar case!

Nice pair! Enjoy! I'm really bonding with the K-1111 RI I just received.

Nice! And If I put a guitar outside right now it would be a white background. Come on Spring!

Jay that one is #003. And, yeah, Patch the guitars are beautiful, as is the view. I had started to forget how beautiful that RI is.

Beat me to it Preacher. #3 it is.

I neglected to mention my favorite feature of these guitars. The neck profile feels different, though it's hard to describe exactly. It falls between the "thin, fast" profile most of us love on modern O's and the "wide feel" of a Folklore or Country Artist. Whatever it is, it fits my hand better than any guitar I've ever played. I love playing these; it's pure comfort for me.
