Location: Yorkshire, England | Since I packed in gigging for a living, and now just amuse myself mainly in my room, (with the guitar that is of course!) I realized that I had probably never even held, let alone owned a really good quality acoustic guitar. To be honest they weren't my first love -I was much more interested in electrics, and although my collection is somewhat modest compared to a lot of the other members on the site, I just fell in love with the Breadwinner and Deacon models. This all changed last week when I bought myself a 1990 Elite 1868 on ebay. It looks like it's spent most of its' life in its' case and has hardly been played. I'm absolutely thrilled with it - the only down-side is that I had get rid of one of my other guitars, otherwise divorce procedings would have been on the horizon. So, faced with the difficult choice of which one to sell, my faithful modified black Breadwinner had to be sold.
Seeing the very early white Breadwinner in the early hours of this morning come up on ebay almost made me go mad and place a bid - but, I slept on it and all was lost !
Come now, dry your eyes dear OFC members it is beacause of your enthusiasm for all things Ovation that I decided to get an Elite, It was a fine decision, I wouldn't swap for any other make. But I do miss my Breadwinner. Thank you for listening..... |
