Hello Ovation Fan club members. Well I have now purchased my second Ovation (but I swear I'm not collecting)! It is a 1982 Custom Legend 1669 and I really love it! It's a bit of a "Charlie Brown" guitar and needs some T.L.C. Most notably I would like to be able to tighten up the nuts that hold the preamp to the body... This is the model that has the volume and tone on a single shaft. Any advice would be very welcome. All the best, Will.

Are the nut(s) on the same shaft as the knobs or separate?

Thanks Dan I figured it all out. The guitar was so old, dirty and unused that most of the parts were frozen. I was able to get the volume and tone off and tighten the nut that holds it all in. In spite of that I used it on two gigs this week just for a lark and it was great!

Those are great guitars. The first cutaway CL.

I had a 1667 that I put a modern preamp in, and it was one of my best guitars ever. For some ridiculous reason (like needing money) I sold it.

enjoy it

I have a 1677 and it still is the one I pick up to play almost every day. I had a newer preamp put in and it's sweet.
it's not in the best of shape, binding and a couple of finish cracks. but love it.
